Finding the Area under a Curve

I. First enter the equation of the graph into "y1" and graph it.



II. To find the area under the curve for the interval x = 2 to x = 6 (this is just an example), follow the key strokes below.
  1. "2nd"
  2. "trace"
  3. "7"



    The calculator is asking for the lower limit. In the example, the lower limit is '2'.

  4. Press '2' and hit enter.

    The calculator is now asking for the upper limit. In the example, the upper limit is '6'.

  5. Press '6' and hit enter.

    The following screen should appear.



    The area between the curve and the x-axis is filled in from '2' to '6'. The area is equal to 1.8666667.
