The Assignment Mode indicates how students can interact with the assignment.

Open: allows students full access to all questions, with all available feedback.
Quiz: students can answer the questions but do not get any feedback.
Review-Only:students can review questions that they have already answered but cannot access questions that they have not answered.
Offline: Locked to students who work on the assignment offline. Student answers uploaded by the teacher. Only available if the assignment contains just multiple choice questions.
EZScoreCam : Locked to students who work on the assignment offline using a GradeCam bubble sheet. Student answers scanned in by the teacher. Only available if the assignment does not contain any non-GradeCam supported questions such as drag and drop.

The Availability Options controls when a student has access to the assignment

Always: allows students full access to all questions at all times.
From/To: allows students to work on the assignment within a date and time range.

The Timed option allows the student to work on an assignment for the specified amount of time. Timer starts when the student opens the assignment.

Assign Retakes determines whether students should automatically be assigned retakes of the assignment if they don’’t meet the Mastery Level.

Mastery Level defines the score a student should achieve. If the student’s cumulative score is lower than the selected mastery level, the student may be issued an automated retake of the assignment.

Auto-Score Retries determines whether questions the student answered Correct on Retry are scored with no credit, half credit or full credit. This setting applies to auto-scoring of the original assignment and retakes.

Mode for Retakes, Availability and the timed option work the same way as the mode for the initial assignment but apply to retakes only.

Auto-Graded Questions to Include on Retakes determines which questions are included in retakes:

Same Questions as Original Assignment will include all questions from the original assignment, regardless of whether the student answered them correctly or not.
Questions Answered Incorrectly the 1st Time will use questions that the student answered incorrectly on the first try (regardless of whether they answered correctly on retry, if applicable).
If the student’s score is lower than the selected mastery level, the student will be issued a retake of the assignment.
Questions Answered Incorrectly on Retry will use only the questions that the student answered incorrectly on the 1st try and on retry (does not apply to Quiz mode).

CR Questions to Include on Retakes determines which CR questions are included in retakes:

Do not include any CR Questions will exclude all CR questions from being used in retakes, regardless of how the student scored on each one.
Include CR questions where the Max score was not achieved will include CR questions in the retakes where the student didn’t achieve the maximum points available.

The Auto-Lock option allows students to answer questions with all available feedback, but they cannot view questions that they have already answered.

If checked, the Allow changing of language display allows will allow students to change the display language from English to other languages for this assignment. The Google translate feature provides a basic translation of a question, hint, reason, or vocabulary. In some cases, the translation may misinterpret a word, phrase, idioms, colloquialisms or slang. It may also have difficulty with context, figures of speech, and technical terminology. Note that the assignment will automatically be displayed using numbers for multiple choice questions.

Display grade upon completion of quiz: allows students to see their grade when they complete a quiz mode assignment.
